Also what brakes you got? I found the standard 4 pots be rubbish

You need to get that motor sorted out.

Billy, four pots front, 2 pots rear refurbished, they've got to be better than what's currently on there - it doesn't look like I get any kind of braking on the rears presently!.

4pots will work perfectly fine as long as you put decent components in there (and they aren't suffering from the seized piston syndrome)

Few steps forward - Refurbished calipers from Godspeed

However, even though I selected the disks for my model and year, what actually turned up don't fit - it would transpire that the V5 / V6 Type R share the same rear brakes with a 22b being a 290mm disk with 190mm inner ring for the handbrake - The calipers that were removed were is rather poor condition too.

It would seem that the annoying noise that I've been getting from the rear brakes is probably down to the fact the left rear caliper is jammed and the pads have come away from their mounts - doh.

22b is different again................

only v4-6 Type-R's and STi RA's use the specific 290mm vented / 190mm handbrake drum as discussed

So big ole thank you to Gary & Danny for getting the car braking again, and great big thanks to Alyn for getting the rears sent so quickly!.

One of the rear calipers was fooked!!, no movement in it whatsover, so now safe to say I have full Type R braking.

Nasty old rusty things ....

And with the rather nicely painted discs from Alyn
