Yep agree with Dan and Ben there.

Surely the gains you will get with the slightly bigger intercooler wont be as much as changing to FMIC as it's still above the engine ?

Front mount was too much agro. These are rated up to 450 bhp. Good enough for me... wirh turbo upgrades and ecu fiddling by end of the year it will all make sense...

its just a resevoir lol..... common practice for this type of conversion..
I want to keep the car looking fairly stock so as not to give too much away.. plus fmic are a pain to fit and I want to keep the standard airbox

Hahahaha, that's a joke post right? You didn't actually do that did you?

I mean if you really did do that, you would have at least changed the (black & full of bits of plastic) clutch fluid before you bodged that IC on top of the reservoir, wouldn't you?
BTW, a fmic is a piece of cake to fit on a classic and won't suffer anywhere near the heat soak that that top mount will + it'd have the added bonus of a zero risk of clutch fluid leaking onto a red hot downpipe as you wouldn't have had to butcher the reservoir.
Un-fucking-believable! Good luck with the build :smilielol5:

PS

I look forward to seeing some pics when you start work on the braking system

PPS

I'm just fucking with you, it's your car and your choices what to do with it :)

Wow... I am surprised by the concern of 2 inches of plastic?

I sucked out any plastic using a syringe ( sorry I didn't go into enough detail lol )

This is a self build on a cheap car. I am fully aware of the options I had with the intercooler. .. cost and function played its part.... granted I could do with changing the fluid and this will be dealt with...

the cap is as secure as before and its pinned down by the intercooler too any chance of it moving it will get a grub screw.

I appreciate peoples comments and respect them but as Jon says its my choice..
this isnt an irreversable modification....

the brakes will be in a couple of weeks... I am making the discs out of wood from the woodshop classes I have been doing :-p
