decided to copy and paste all the pages done on Scooby city so far.. ( should keep stuart happy ;-) )

so I bought the uk turbo on the 5th of july 2013...

found on ebay for a very reasonable price
slightly high miles but well looked after and lloonnggg service history.....
the chaps I bought it off used her for a European gumball style charity event and they went thru the whole car for the 2,500 mile journey and she didn't miss a beat.
unfortunately ( although it may have helped to get first dibs ) she was plastered in orange vinyl for their sponsorship decals...
..this took two and a half hours to remove!!
some lacquer was lost on the front bumper and sticky patches left on metal parts of the car which, as I hate washing cars, is still all over the car collecting dirt and dandelion seeds lol.

two and a half hours later......

no speakers or stereo meant buying some for the front doors and rear parcel shelf as well as refitting my jvc head unit which I can hook my phone up to for my wicked toones lol.
this was a bit of a headache but after several hours all was good.

I am not too into modifying the outside but couldn't bare the orange indicators so today three new parcels arrived and three hours later all orange indicators were gone and also added a HID kit......

couldn't resist buying the decals too lol....

now with HID kit fitted....

I want to move the number plate for better air flow as I intend to track her regularly... I need a jap/bike style plate and try to fit it thus....

Image

my list of other mods are as follows ( not in order )
4 pot calipers
braided lines
baffled sump
second set of wheels for road ( 16's for track )
nicer wheel nuts
second radiator fan
straight thru mid section exhaust
new manifold
ecu upgrade
seat harnesses
bigger turbo
change of I/C

I hope to get her on the track by the end of the year and learn how to have real fun in an AWD drive car after using mid engine RWD and front engine RWD cars in anger on the track........

thanks for reading...

so today was the day to find out if the 4 pot calipers will fit inside my 16" speedlines.......

I had also soaked the calipers for over 2 weeks to free the pistons to get them out...

I knew the only way was to use the power brakes of the car to pop the little bstards out :-)

I first needed to make up my brake bleeding kit which I had made before but threw away last year ( who knew lol )

using a 50p jar of coffee and 2 quids work of aquarium pipe and I was away.....

using the vacuum nipple of the intake manifold I connect one end of the pipe to that and the other end into the jar with an airtight hole..

this has another pipe coming out and it's end connects to the bleed nipple....

good news is the 4 pots WILL fit behind my 16's!! WOOHOO!!

so I have now popped all the pistons out and now now take my time refurbing them with all new pistons and seals.. new discs and pads will be ordered soon and I get to take it all off again and fit the HEL braided hoses too... PHEW!!

I have just bought a P1 front splitter too which should be with me middle of next week... happy days.. ( and a sore back lol )
