Just got the MOT sorted, I ended up gong to A & M motors which is next to APT. Great service, would recommend them.

Couple of things to sort, the oil drain and feed are weeping slightly. I know what the issue is and it will mean changing over the types of flange used on either side. Not a massive deal I think the turbo will have to come out to get access. Got one advisory on the MOT which was one of the rear brake lines is corroded so I will lube up and get a price from Mazda for a replacement.

I will aim to get these issues sorted for the 7th so I know the car is in the best shape it can be.

Also the MOT tester loved the pink err I mean light purple strut brace!

Managed to get the drain and feed off last night without needing to remove the turbo which was a result. I have the parts to sort the drain and ordered the stuff for the feed. Just need a time machine after that as I am bored waiting for the 7th now!

UPDATE!!!

Sorted out all the small issues I had the oil feed lines and put in some racing spark plugs ready for the mapping session....

Shit is about to get real! I have been waiting for this day for ages.... Jay D + 3 Rexs! As many of you know Jay D is a bit of a legend when it comes to mapping RX7's, we managed to get him up for the day and get him mapping a few local RX7's.

We did a combo of some road mapping and dyno mapping to get the best of both worlds. Other than a spark plug change and some last minute vacuum tubing adjustment we were set.

I was first up, road mapping first. This is were Jay D works on the cruise map and smooths out the partial throttle stuff. Within about 10 minutes he had made big improvements to the smoothness of my map. Next up the dyno, never had a car on a dyno...gotta be honest I was a bit apprehensive as all my work was being put to the test.

I was looking to get the new map setup to run a BAR of boost pressure unfortunately due to the injector duty cycle getting too high Jay D had to back off. All in all I came out at 0.9 BAR and 376 bhp at the fly which wasent a million miles of what I was looking for. To free up the duty cycle I will need to look at the fuel pump, possibly the fuel filter or maybe the injectors may need to be tested! Just when I thought it was over! The other thing which came out of all of this... I do not need a louder BOV! I have heard quieter shotguns :D

Took the car out for a blat and just as I hoped the response is massively improved and the car is so driveable, power delivery is really smooth and linear. I dont want to case numbers too much as they will always go higher than my wallet will allow. This turbo kit however is just what I want for the car so I will sort the fueling issues for safety if nothing else.

As always, great to catch up with everyone at APT and share abit of banter!

Massive thanks to APT for the user of their rolling road and helping us wankles out and for Jay D for making the trip over the boarder.

Quick pic of my dyno graph...
