Nice work Dom. Told yo it wasn't as bad as you thought !!
I did say I couldn't remember if I had a gasket or not as there's loads of parcel tape over it. Will check tomorrow and get one from Mazda if not. Did you have the connector on the right side of the bay that I showed you ?
FD3S Single Turbo Build(Kinda)
Small update...
Completed the loom install now, I have just got to wire up a coolant level sensor but that shouldnt be too bad. Made up my patch cable tonight so the new loom can talk to my aftermarket air temp sender.
I painted my coil pack stand...
It looked like....

Bit of a improvement (flash on the camera really shows up the brush strokes), I just thought I would use up some hammerite I had left from doing the brakes.
BOV will be going on this weekend, then just got a few small jobs to do and I will be ready for mapping.

Small update.. Gareth and I both got the new looms as many of you know, I started to check mine over once it all was plugged in. I was not getting a reading from the MAP sensor which is kinda important!
After a few phone calls and a couple of days turned out there was en error in the loom and I had to move one connector over. Because of this I wanted to check the other important parts of the loom versus the old loom. With some help (thanks Gareth) we tested the main parts of the loom were correctly wired up, which they were. Fired the car up and it just purred away much to my delight!
While I did all the work on the loom I added some extra grounding straps as the RX7's are known for having bad grounds to the engine. I dont know if it was that or the new loom but the car seemed to run really smooth. As I havent actually driven the car since the turbo change I took it for a quick spin this afternoon off boost and it ran like a dream. The car also sounded completely different as I am so used to it blowing! I am now pretty much ready to get the car mapped I have just a few small jobs which will be done over the next few weeks.
