Well our hairbrained idea of using a length of garden hose to syphon out the old fuel didnt exactly go to plan. After using a mityvac, a brake bleeder and the power of my lungs (deffo dont try this, I can still taste petrol and fumes over 2 hours later!) we couldnt get the petrol out. The car was under half a tank so we put 10l of the finest fresh vpower into the car and decided that should be enough to help test the fuel lines.
After building the courage to connect the battery, jump the fuel pump and then turn the ignition on Dom decided to check the fuel pump was working by standing at the rear of the car whilst I sat in and turned it on. On hindsight that probably wasnt sensible.
Needless to say I came to the enginebay to find the finest spray of said vpower coming from the FPR over the engine bay. Fast footing meant the ignition went off and the fuel lines inspected. The cause.....me being a numpty connecting the adapter on the FPR the wrong way round....after fixing this and checking the other connector on the FPR (which I need to buy a better one) we connected it all up for another go. All looked good and we almost managed to set the base pressure to 38psi. Sadly its a fuelab (US) fpr so the allen key needed was not a size in my armoury so could only set it to 32psi.
The fuel lines did hold pressure after we turned the ignition off so was pleased with that.
Just need to get the new adapter and an allen key then can set it properly.
But it means I can now start bolting the exciting bits on........GT35/40 turbo kit !!!!!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing... I could of seen that the fuel pump was working if I stood at the front of the car by the mist of V power!

All in all really glad you have got one of the big jobs done so you can move on with it all!

EDIT : FYI Gareth I had a look at my FPR this eve and the adjuster was screwed right down.

But despite our efforts to get the fuel out with hoses, gadgets etc we couldnt. Hence why putting in the 10l of fresh stuff.
There would only be around 20l of the old stuff (1 year and a half). I will still try to remove it but if not will just put in 40L of fresh stuff.
Most of it probably went in the enginebay and on my drive though when testing the fuel pump
