Another day, another update !!
Day started off pretty well after receiving my shiny bits from the DM Motorsport guys.
After a trip to Garys to meet Ben I snuck in my alternator as it needed an impact gun to remove the nut off the top and asked the APT boys to have a look. It came off easily enough but disaster struck when putting the new pulley on it went on rock solid tight and didnt move. After investigation by Gary and Danny and even some technical advice from Mr Connor we found the shape of the pulley was slightly different which meant it was catching....

After trying to convince everyone it wasnt a cheap chinese ebay job and it was made by a company who were legit and reliable. I left and mailed the guys who confirmed there was a shim that was missing that would raise it up enough to clear the alternator housing and the pulley to spin freely. Apparently its in the post now
Anyway after a busy day doing other bits and pieces preparing for my bro getting married at the weekend I felt an hour was needed on the car to help unwind.
I remembered Dad had an impact gun (one without the gearing) so on the way home grabbed this (yet another tool from his garage) and set to work.
I went from this old engine bay...

via this.......old and new...

to this......

Needed doing....No
Gonna release more power.....No
Makes it look much better.....heck yes !!!
Only thing I need to get now is an impact gun with gearing in as the one I have continuously turns whether its done up tightly or not which is fine when undoing but when doing up I dont want to round the head or ruin the thread.
