So good to get back out on track after quite some time, this TD was a Birthday gift from Russ Emma and Riley.
We signed on early afternoon but then came the first disappointment no Snetterton Salad so had to make do with Pasty and Chips certainly filled a hole, the second disappointment came when the car was noise tested it was very close to the 102 db noise level so careful use of the throttle was required until the whole system had warmed up.
With the briefing out of the way we headed out for the sighting laps and for the first and only time during the evening Ole Yella was behind me, really good to see it back on track and Russ with a grin on his face.
Then it was down to business trying to remember braking and turn-in points for the first few laps indeed 2 sessions I did not go above 5,500 rpm to keep the noise down, this had a definite benefit as it made me try to carry more speed into and through the bends, so whilst the speed may have been down by some 15-20 mph down on the straights the overall time would not have been so greatly slower (and no I did not time the laps).
What I can say is that with the exception of Coram and Palmer I think I raised my speed on every corner and not surprisingly the speed between corners such as Hamilton to Oggies and in particular Oggies to Williams, if you have never explored the far side of the kerbing at Williams I can only say it is best not to, as the kerb is bloody high and rattles the teeth no end.
All in all a great Birthday Present I wonder if I could get away with saying it was my Birthday and get another present or do you think I may be pushing my luck so perhaps I will just leave it with a very big thanks to Russ Emma and Riley
That Warboys is some warrior he drove to Snetterton in his Tigersport and of course home again, now there`s dedication.
And of course a big thanks to Dave for another great TD and to ask if there is a link to the photographs
Snetterton 300 June 10th
Nice write up and a belated happy birthday H
Any reason you guys don't get noise tested after you've done your sighting laps? Your car will be much hotter and your dB's much lower as a result.

Thanks Stuart, been quite a few of them now you would think I would get bored with them but keep them coming is my motto.
Never really considered leaving noise testing till after sighting laps before, I have suspended 600mm copper balls inside chimneys to quieten them by breaking up the sound wave but delaying sound testing seems a much better idea. To say nothing of finding 600mm balls

I wondered where you had got to Dan?
There is not alot i can realy add to what harry has already said. Other than ol`yella done its typical trade mark thing just like a mongrel dog and marked its territory- ie:- another burst hose and a flooded paddock floor! At least it waited until 7.35 so i only missed out on the last 25mins. Which i truth was no big problem as the brakes were cooked anyway. I think Harry put in more laps in that evening than he had in most full days. I know Matt must have put seriously high lap count in as he was parked up next to us with his stuff on my trailer at the start and i didn`t see him again until the chequered flag was waved at the end.
Like Harry i had been advised to take it steady for awhile as ol`yellas noise levels were not brilliant which ticked me off having just fitted hayward and scotts so called quiet system! So i had a few sessions of driving like a total gayer (nothing new there i here you say:)) changing up around the 5k mark. My biggest surprise was finding out that when i did give it full chat my car now hits the 7k red line in fifth up senna straight, More than once i went for a sixth gear that wasn`t there! Strangely ive always had a greater top speed up senna than bentley. Does anybody else find this?
I had put the standard 16`s back on wrapped in new khumo rubber for the night and kind of wished i had stuck with the 18`s as through the corners it was rubbish- At least the sound of squealing tyres helped drown out the exhaust!:D
For forced induction the evening weather was spot on and as always it was a very well run evening by Dave. And it seemed that everyone was well behaved.
So for me the brakes were shit and the grip levels were shit but at least i was happy with the straight line speed and good company, So its off to the pod next.
