Modified Live Snetterton June 9th *BP stand*

Well what can I say.......when I spotted that the two Pro Drifters were coming to Snetterton I told Stuart right away and before I had finished the sentence I knew that I would have his company to the event. Then a suggestion about putting out to the forum and making a meet of it was decided and the rest you guys know........just wanted to say thanks for making the payment so swift and easy.
The guys didnt disappoint did they and the sound of Mad Mikes triple rotor and massive GTX-45 turbo was a symphony that was damn near perfection !
Big thanks for Snetterton for letting us get so close to the drivers and the cars and seeing them on track. I was delighted to have a very quick word with Mike first thing in the morning.....when you read about these guys escapades every week on Speedhunters I felt kinda humbled to meet him and Asabo in the flesh. Getting my book signed was the icing on the cake.
Plenty of other cars to see but I couldnt help but feel the whole show was down in terms of numbers and variety of cars.....where were the Skyline clubs and the Supras etc etc. Pleased it didnt turn into a chav fest in the 'sht & shine' as Mr Barnes called it
Nice to see a good turnout from BP, hats off to Dan for having the balls to get out there on the track in the Pajero and thanks to Ben for the lift. Roll on the next meet !!

bearing in mind you only attended to watch the two Speedhunter's drivers, the least you could do is spell Aasbo's name correctly
To echo my learned friend's points I thought it was a blinder from Speedhunter's perspective. How two admittedly awesome drivers and their entourage of merchandise , cars and kindred spirit can carry an event as diverse and 'large' as Modified Live is surprising (Thank God ML got them along, eh?)

I was extremely busy on the day and it was great to see friends old and new, and also terrific to get some business on the day
(Bonus).
Mixed feelings for me on the clubs attendance, if I'm honest. It was great to see the die hards of Ben, Russ, Dan Harle, Scott and Matt there and superb to be joined by guys like John B, Stu Beales and Dom, and even the near legendary Dan Booker from way back when. I guess my benchmark was set by events where we'd get 80+ cars turning up for meets, or 40+ cars for track events we/I ran. Alas, the times have changed.
It was good to see Gary of APT in high demand in the pits working on cars backed by other tuners (you can work that out for yourselves I guess but when the shit hits the fan on race day, who do these guys turn to?). It was nice to see Jason from AA oil co. and the guys from San Treo even if it was briefly. The aforementioned Mr Aasbo was very friendly when I met him, and properly laid back. How these guys stay so relaxed when they have been beasted from 9am with signature requests, blaggers and wannabe's all day long.........not sure where I fit in as a 41 year old 'fan' but there you go.
I wandered around the pits and paddocks a couple of times, and the atmosphere felt a bit......flat. Lots of cars were broken, some worse than others, and there was almost too much going on which seemed to dilute things in terms of quality for me.
-The F1 demos were impressive acoustically but bland in terms of any other metric.
-The drift taxis have been done to death for me, but then I've been to RWYB days at Pod since christ knows when so drifting at that level is nothing new.
-The trade stuff was poor. Very few stands and those that had attended were thinly stocked.........I didn't see Eddy but I saw the stand and it looked better than most.
-Kleers and Speedhunters were busy for good periods other than that, the only queues I saw were for Tyrells or the bogs!

A bit marmite but worth posting, a tweaked NSX
Our own stand had an eclectic mix for sure.......a tuned R35 courtesy of one of John's guests, Steve through to Dan's Pajero track weapon. For many Dan's chunky 4x4 tottering around the track was a comedic high point but I don't think anyone can criticise his ability to have a laugh; well done mate
Not sure when the next meet will be but I hope that we get some more support. Big thanks to Gareth for securing the stand and discounted private parking right next to the best attraction of the day.......the Speedhunters Drift Pro's. I know full well how hard it is to organise even the smallest of get togethers, let alone one with third party people to pay and big demand for space. Thanks G; this would not have happened without you
