Beautiful Mike. The car, that is........... :)
The front profile looks just like how my ideal Impreza would be.

Look forward to seeing this when it's used in anger.

Well i thought it was time to update this thread and get my arse into gear this year. The first event i got the car ready for was hethel which i was looking forward to as i hadn't run on the new track.Anyway the event didn't go as planned coming into the sharpe right left chicane the engine picked up a bearing which i didn't realise until i came over the line and it didn't sound right next to the barriers. The only good thing was my first run would of been quick enough for class win, so not bad for a first run out of the box for the car i hadn't competed in 3 years and a new track so was sort of pleased. Thoughts then turned to a big engine build etc but this was not the purpose of this car.
So a look through flee bay and a guy in tonbridge wells breaks impreza's had a version 4 sti lump it had new pistons new oil pump and metal head gaskets was a total gamble but he seemed a nice guy so engine picked up decided to go with a group N baffled sump from alyn at APS only due to me using the super soft dunlop x22 rally tyres.

The next thing i done was to fit the later spec coil packs from the new age which i got from the norwich impreza breakers to convert to this set up was a lot easier than i thought it would be

Once all this was done and refitted the engine fired on the button was so pleased contacted duncan to come over and just check everything was ok with the map was running a bit rich but soon sorted so all good.
The last event of the year was debden airfield which again was a new lay out for me but what a course fast and flowing for 3 1/4 of it then a bit twisty to the end really enjoyed it. We had 2 other impreza's audi rs4 and a evo 8 in the class, runs where going well was ahead by just over a second which had included a first timed run.
We then stopped for lunch after lunch going down towards the start strapped in helmet on ready to go i got pulled over just before the line and where checking my tyres asking me to prove they where legal to run as somone had protested them, they are on the list of x22 dunlops but not my version apparently. So to say i was wound up was a understatement as we had lunch and no one had asked to look at them and i could of changed them with plenty of time.

So got the car back changed all the wheels over to the yokohama A048 Thanks to the pit crew of gerry h and jim for the quick turn around. so back down to the line to say i had red mist was a understatement, The car actually felt more stable and i pushed it as hard as i could i done a 69.16 and john in the evo did a 70.84 this was still quite close with one run to go the only change i made was to stiffen the rear slightly.
I was still fuming about the tyre change and was going to give the last run everything i had john had gone before me so i wouldn't of seen his finishing time.
Just as i was about to go i was told to hang on as someone had gone off which i thought was john only to find out it was mike sheering so john would get a re run on slightly warmer tyres. So i gave it everything that poor car had to give and probably more the run went very well i actually thought the car felt over stiff. when i went over the line i looked back for the time and id gone a second quicker than my previous run doing a 68.15, waited for john and hed over done it and posted a 73. So the tyre protested worked in my favour. So was a nice end to a not very good year. The only thing ill be doing to the car before the start of the season in march is to change the map sensor to a v5 which i have so we can up the boost slightly and its being mapped on the 24th jan by duncan at surrey rolling road.
Hope you all had a great christmas and new year hopefully 2014 will be a better year.

Nice update :) I knew most of this but it's nice to see you on the forum and letting the lads know how you're getting on. One dead smart Impreza with sensible mods and money in it
