More fun and games today. With grown up supervision, tackled the back brake pads ( visibly thin) and looked into why the handbrake with so poor.

The pads were down to 3mm ish, so they came off easy enough, but the rotors less so, seemingly welded on. Having persuaded them off , found the handbrake shoes were cracked, with part of the friction material missing.

This pointed to some serious abuse ( could it be the lad who I bought it from enjoyed some "wand" action? ) , this being confirmed when I found cracks on the inside bell of the discs.

This was nt planned, so more money on new discs!. Got all this lot on, and adjusted
Next job is the windows & rust treatment ( more adult supervision required! )

Just a small word of consolation.........I have driven a few e36 and their handbrakes have all been poor........with the exception of the hydro wand in Betty.
Just imagine how minty this will all be when it's done?

I tried to resolve the issue with the front near side window, and started by assessing what damage there is on the door card and fixings.....(oh deary me
)

The trim around the handle is torn and surprise, it's been glued back in place by the "Yoof" who had it before me?
Removed this with some persuasion, and the sound card was in good shape

Got this off in one piece and started looking at the problems cause (Terrible clunking, window jumping out of alignment)
The slider clips had failed and the regulator was looking a little sorry for itself.

I fitted the new clips after some swearing, got it all lined up and then realised I had nt got the window into the runner within the door itself, so removed it all again, lined it up and re-affixed the window to the regulator. Problem is, it wont run straight through the rails and keeps going askew. I'm now wondering if the rails are some how twisted?
