Getting very excited about tomorrow now....
Picked the car up sat with the bonnet painted with mixed results. I'm pleased in that It looks good all painted up. Slight disappointment is that it's the wrong colour - either it's not the colour I thought it was or the paint on the car has got slightly darker. It's not far off but I noticed, not enough to worry, esp once it's stickered up. It is however very light now all the old paint has been taken off, although I'm not sure how long the paint will last being so thin and with it getting so hot. We'll see.

Can see what you mean about the colour match but it's one of those things........others issues to sort as and when mate. At least the increased cooling will be the real benefit to all of this.

Yeah exactly, although todays track action has highlighted a potential need for some heat shield stuff under the bonnet as it's getting mega hot over the hard turbo pipe kit and seems to be affecting it already.
Anyway, bonnet chat is boring compared to the day I had Snett with Malc riding pillion in the GTR. What a fucking mental day!!!!!! Car behaved itself and was driven harder and for longer than ever before I reckon. I also learnt bucket loads but I think I should put this in another thread.
All in all a fantastic day
GTR build thread related observations are, in no particular order:
It's fucking rapid and i love it
It did about 250kms on track today if my maths are right
The Khumo's are better able to handle the power/weight of the car than the 888s.
It drove home quite strangely (wobbly) so need to see if this is just extreme tramlining cos I've killed yet another set of tyres (2 TDs for this set, although I reckon i might see another one before they go in the bin), or the wheel bearing or worn Hicas bar rose joint have got a whole load worse after todays antics and something is moving about, a lot.
It seems to be running a bit rich & idling fast
I'm really glad I didn't sell it when it was pissing me off/breaking
Also got some sound advice from a pal of Malcs on tyre temps, geo and general set up. Matt from tracktoys.co.uk did his pyro stuff on my tyres when i came in from one session and gave me some interesting recommendations so we'll see what I do about that. Good news was that the car is loading it's tyres almost perfectly 51% front 49% rear, or was it the other way round...?
So, enough rambling. Will post on the tuition tomorrow when i've had time to reflect, but it really was the best fun I've had in the car for a long time.
Quick pic of the back - a tad of over fueling and flaming today methinks..

That's like one of my 50/50 valeting shots showing a before and after
Glad the car performed well mate........I guess we'll have to wait and see about your thoughts on the coaching and other bits so I'll look forward to reading that when I get back next week
Well done

[img] Q. If you were stranded on a desert island, who would you rather be stranded with....Ray Mears or Bear Grylls?
A. No question....Ray Mears....you could make a shit load more stew out of that tubby little fecker [/img]
