yeah thats not a bad idea, my concern was that I could live with the ally bending cos as you know from experience there;s no real bad, but the carbon no doubt would crack and i'd have to chuck it away...

I suspect that your bonnet will be wetlay mate, in which case it's like a sandwich of resin>matting (can be fibreglass, carbon or a bit of each)>resin so if it does crack you just rub down the resin (or pay someone else to) and then re-apply the resin into the original kind of shape.

If your bonnet is dry carbon it will render my post useless (like many of them) but then your bonnet will also cost around

Had the GTR at the workshop yesterday and lobbed a new alternator and oil p sender at it. While we were at it Daz put a stock oil pressure sender on it too so I can use the Syvecs ECU to shut everything down should the pressure drop. Cant do this with the aftermarket guage I'm using so am quite pleased the guage packed up at Snett and brought this to my attention as makes sense to use the functions of the ECU.

Rear wheel bearings are no worse so I think they'll last a while longer but are on the to do list. The play in the Hicas lock out rose joints isn't good tho so i may just get some new ones from DW as i cant find the invoice for the rose joints. Bit pissed off these have gone as they weren't cheap and not had much use.

The bonnet turned up and am pleased with it, no obvious bads at all. I was drinking with a really top bodyshop guy last night however who said that taking it back to carbon was a no no so thats decision made. It's gonna be blue. Which tbh I think will look better as I'm not sure how good a black bonnet will look on my car. Plus of course, I like my calsonic livery  The bonnet actually seems to be a lot stiffer than the std ally one so hopefully the "folding up" business wont happen, but just in case I'm going to re position the catches. Which is easier said than done so requires some thought

The bonnet looks like it will help no end with under bonnet temps.

Look forward to seeing it painted and on the car.

I'm thinking of going Syvec's. They do a plug and play kit for the 996 Turbo which i've heard good things about.

Do you rated the Syvec's????

Starting to get excited about the 28th Christian :)

Had some success at Snetterton this weekend. One of my drivers scored his first podium finishes with 2 x 3rds in the Elise Trophy on Saturday and another one of my guys won the Lotus Cup UK race on Sunday with fastest lap and a New Lap Record.

Apols for the slight thread hijack :) just very proud of these guys. I wasn't there as was at Rockingham where one of my Boxster drivers had his first win :)

No problem on the hijacking, thats some really good going, great results all round. I'm looking forward it too, hence trying to ensure the car behaves itself.

Mind you - you know it's the 30th not the 28th right!??

Well it definatley can't hurt I dont reckon.

Yeah I've been really pleased with mine. Although the only comparison on the GTR was old Power FC so probabloy not a good comparison.

I don't know what model you're looking at but my one has loads of features, including the ability to connect to it remotely via wifi so your tuner can access the map if you're at a circuit etc and they aren't.

Can't really say anything more than that it does what it say on the tin and hasn't done anything wrong (touch wood). I know Ryan (one of the brains behind it) since it was him who mapped my car so could have a word with him if you like.
