I had some Trust titanium wheel nuts on the GTR and although unbelievable light they didn't last 5 minutes after a bit of track heat and I had to drill one off - not sure how relevant this comment is however...
Perfectly relevant

I don't trust them and having seen several give up their threads I took my last set off and threw them in the bin. To each their own and all that and yes, you're right, lots of Japanese track cars do use alloy nuts but I dare say they check and change them a lot more regularly than the likes of us would do.

Right I have a bit of a dilema at the moment I want to get my wheels refurbished but I can't quite make up my mind which way to go.
I was originally thinking about going to shadow crome which looks great in the metal so to speak.

Then I was thinking about something Stuart said about keeping them black with Red detailing.
This is what they are like now.

I was thinking perhaps to lose the raised detailing behind the spokes and just have the gloss black with a red lip just inside the tyre as per picture 3
Then Pantera Chris went and showed photos of his refurbed wheels in Advan Gold......Git !!! They look really good too and I know red and gold work well.....so I really am not sure what to do at the moment.....
The main thing putting me off the gold is keeping them clean the other options will mask the dirt better.....
Ho Hum !
One small bit of progress was that my floor mats arrived today so chuffed with them.....just praying for some dry warmer weather now to crack on with some of the other jobs......just sorry I won't be able to get along to your mini meet on the 13th.......bloody work !

Whatever colour you decide on for the wheels, they can be sealed with something like this

or this

Both easy enough to apply and they make protection and maintenance much easier
