Dutch TA seems really really popular. Someone I know on GTR.co.uk is going to do a couple of rounds, rather than a couple of rounds of UK TA....?

Pez, any news from the MSA?

How do chief. I've just got back from a manic States trip and have heard nothing at all from the MSA, not a friggin' peep!! :banghead:

"When applying for a Competition Licence all applicants are required to declare any physical disability.
Disabled drivers may be required to present themselves for examination by the MSA` Medical Consultant. If required to attend such examination the applicant will be required to provide, in advance, a note from his/her GP describing the applicant`s disability and, if applicable, an opinion from any specialist who has been consulted".

I reckon this ^^^^ has been a sticking point and to be fair to them my medical file is 4 binders thick with over 6 years of specialist reports from 12 different specialists in various fields. My doc has a tendency to unwittingly write reports that aren't particularly favourable for the purpose that they've been requested for.

I may fall foul on several aspects as the med files are pretty in depth and may contravene some aspects of the minimum requirements for being granted an MSA licence. I've had to arrange another appointment with my doc for next week to discuss a number of issues (MSA being on the list) and figure it may be worthwhile seeing if I can get him to come along with me to the MSA med board.

I haven't given up on it though and I'm confident that the car is ready for TD's even if they figure at first glance that I am not.

I'll keep you posted mate

On a completely seperate note, the guys that I've been doing business with in the US are for the most part full on petrol heads with a car park full of yank metal. The torque of this thing (HEMI powered Dodge Challenger) was an experience....I was looking at binning the VG and going down the 2JZ road instead, however a HEMI powered z32 does now hold some appeal :drool5:

Given the choice of a 2JZ, VG or RB over a V8 and it would be easy; V8 all day long. I remember when Gary at APT started fitting decent quality V8's into anything from R33's to S14's and the instant torque was always talked about. With an LS2 doing 400/400 out of the box and all day long, the pros massively outweigh the cons.

Good luck with your license application Pez. I can only imagine the frustration but I guess you're used to overcoming bureaucracy and adversity. The other thing I suppose is that the victory will be all the sweeter once you get your break through :)

Bloody red tape:banghead: When they finally stop scratching their colons and give you a license at least then you'll be able to do a round or two to see how you get on without alot of the pressure and prepare for a full season next year.
Good luck:thumbs:

Alan was always complaining that our car and Ronnies looked too much alike from the front.

Even TA organisers get them wrong. New website launched today and Ronnies profile has a pic of our car. Wonder how long before they change it...

I think it's fairly well documented that I'm a massive V8 fan, hence putting up with 10MPG from my DD for so many years. But sticking either that or the toyota lump in the Zed needs thought from a weight/handling perspective. The V in the zed sits so far back that the car is essentially mid-front engined. I always remember thinking how much better it was than the supra layout when my car was at whifbitz and you could compare the zed to the supras with those long sixes hanging way out front of the axle. Saying that the toyota lump is far more capable in terms of tuning so maybe make up the lost time on the straights...

Just to add some 'sauce' to the mix, the LS2 is about 70kgs lighter than an VG30 from what I've read ;)
