Okay so Ben sent me a link to a lovely mint unmolested wite STI wagon from Hurst cars. And it truly is lovely, however I can't stump up the 4k to buy it. However Hurst also have a silver one in stock, a Ver III WRX turbo with STI bits and bobs on it. So at least looks wise, it's more or less how I want it.

Now, the rear spats and front (Jun?) lip need flatting and repainting, but in terms of spec etc what do you guys think?

Would it be something YOU would buy? Really do need spoon feeding with this as I have zero Impreza knowlege and don't fancy being stung again. :)

Oh and the price (often reflects the condition) is more of what I can afford.

I saw that silver one whilst browsing the other day. It looks ok and has some nice wheels etc. Being a dealer car, unless it is a trade in to clear perhaps, he should be making a profit so it owes him a bit less which is not very much so a very cheap car. It cannot be perfect for that money so be careful if you are thinking about buying it.

Ha ha ha I sent Ben the white wagon and same as you mate....if I had 4k I'd be buying it (condition depending!)

Dont rush into it mate unless you are certain. I think a version 3 is a bit too old now and something with STI bits on it isnt a proper STI which is what you are after. After all doesnt a proper STI have a better engine spec, turbo, interior, welding etc rather than just a better intercooler and seats like advertised above so its not going to be the same.

There have been some bargains appearing on the sites so best to hold fire and wait for the right one.

Yep, don't rush fella ... honestly save the pennies and hold out for a proper imported wrx sti V4 or newer. The silver one looks pants chap and will have the tractor style gaiter :) and the horrid old interior.

The wrx sti is a much higher spec, has the 'red top' plus lots of other nice little extras.

Honestly, just wait, save and get the better car.

Okay guys, thanks for the advice. Waiting would be better as I could really do with saving aside some 'buffer' cash. :) So a Ver IV wrx sti is what I should plumb for. But what are the wrx wagons like? Isn't that what Russ has?
