Sexy Red Rexy
Thanks to John for swinging round to my neck of the woods to show the car. I'd forgotten how distinctive the sound of a rotary was and also how damn good they look.
The red paint certainly looks the part on an FD and its nice to see a proper red rather than the faded pink colours you see. Some nice mods there to the exterior don't spoil the look of the car which is all too easy to do. Am still not a fan of the spoiler though but as John said it suits the car.
All my fears of a single have now been quashed, the car was very smooth accelerating without the dip on changeover and certainly more than enough power for the road.
Definitely a nice car and once some minor interior niggles are put right (what car doesnt have these) it will be spot on.

Obviously the snow has cleared better in your area than mine then
On a day like today with our local snow and ice, I am quite happy infront of the open fire and with zero intentions of going out, let alone going out in a 400 horsepower, rear wheel drive, single turbo'd monster

I left my house at 6.25am yesterday and drove to Wiltshire, returning to Norwich @ just after 5pm. Most of the journey both ways was snow, sleet and blizzards........ideal weather to be in a car like yours mate
Very little this side of Enfield was settling though so it could have been so much worse.
Anyway, I think it's great to see you Rex guys encouraging one another to get the cars up and running. The sound of one rotary is special. The sound of 4 of them..........

Finally has some spare time to myself today so spent most of the day giving sexy rexy a bit of TLC....
A good wash and wax to start with then started to look at tidying up some of the little niggles I had with the car......
I have to say I had forgotton how poor some of the build quality is on these cars.....a mixture of poor build quality and 19 year old brittle plastic not a good recipe...
Added to previous owners doing their own thing all was not well.....
Glove box won't open its not locked but just wont open.....lots of clips and fixing missing etc....so I guess I will be paying a visit to Jimmy's parts bin again...
I wanted to get the n/s/f wheel off to reroute the power cables properly for the monster amp in the boot and to secure the wheel arch liner properly but couldn't get the jack under the car so will try again another day with planks etc to get some more clearance.
The wheels on closer inspection are not good.....a fairly poor paint job which is flaking off in places and if I am honest I don't like them black so I went and had a chat with BA wheels yesterday and have decided to get them powder coated shadow crome....So a quick phone call this afternoon to Andrew @ Jimmy's and he is going to lend me a set of wheels next week for me to use while the wheels are being done.
I thought that was nice of him especially as he has only met me 4 times before....I must have an honest face !

Your right it was he's a nice chap and thought I would be cheeky and ask he agreed no problem....the first picture above is of the shadow crome finish looks better in the metal though......
Does anyone know if anyone on here can do anodising the wheel nuts I have started to lose the colour I just wondered if it was cheaper to get them redone or buy new ones ?

I don't trust or like alloy wheel nuts anyway so my advice would be to buy new, but then others will have their own opinions. Not sure that you'll get steel ones in gucci shadow chrome anyway
