My Mk2 escort

Post by 200jimcone »

Hi thought would start a project thread for my new car. It's an 1979 mk2 1600 sport. I've bought the car which has been fully stripped and resprayed. Car needs some work still doing as its not all put back together and has a 1600 cross flow in it. It's had full rs fishnet recaro interior , 2 inch lowering blocks, rs3 spoke steering wheel, which all need fitting and my plans are to rebuild a 2.0 pinto on twin carbs and a Kent cam and 4 branch exhaust.

Pics as it stands at moment

Have parts I'm collecting now but want weather to warm up so I can get on with it.

Pedal box
Resevoirs and braided lines
Brake pipes and clips
Door seals
Fuel lines
Bumper brackets
2.0 pinto in need of rebuilding

Will keep this updated as I go cheers for looking

How jealous am I would love to find one that was sensible money.

Guy about 2miles away is a pit of an expert at pintos on carbs If you ever need them setting up when finished.

No problem he mainly does stock car stuff but tuned both are pinto powered tigers on his rollers not many old school tuners around. Is the bonnet vent standard?

No it not buy previous owner had it as it has got most of the parts to make it a cross flow turbo and that's we're the turbo sits.

I will have to sort something out when I run pinto as that's the side the carbs are on.

very nice car but i'd go s2000 or zetec/dutec all the way. Old ford engines are done.

owned fast pinto's and cossies they don't want to make power, poor castings and/or heavy.
mk1 escort, supercharged.
