Team Extremes Rx7 drag car

Post by K1HKSarse »

Just a quick brief outline...Some of you know it in its previous showcar look. I had the chassis done in 2005 and started drag racing the car in 2007 in the JDS series at Santa Pod. I had a bad crash at Pod in March 2010, got the car back out racing again about 2 months later and finished the 2010 season. I havent raced the car since due to wanting to get the car back looking right with quite a few mods on the way.

In the process of getting the engine bay finalised, position everything correctly then take it apart again. Get it painted then final build.

Car will be out racing again next year under the Team Extreme banner with some great sponsors onboard aswell. Thanks goes out to those people, you know who you are.

I remember it when it was in this form

and it was one of the few 'show' style cars I thought could carry it off. When you showed me the photos on Sunday, I couldn't believe the tubed front end! :) The transformation over the years is superb, and the way that you've stayed loyal to the car and engine is to be commended (particularly when you're surrounded by the inevitable V8 banter  )

I look forward to seeing the next stage in your process, and even more excited about seeing it roll out for racing next year

Yep the purple car when it was featured in Max Power (sad I know that I used to read that.....well we all did didnt we?!!?) was what really got me into RX7s after Ben suggested I looked at one.

Didnt you take that over to the US also ?

Great project though and cant believe how much it has changed.

The photos really don't do this car justice, this is one sweet RX and looks so much better in the flesh - looking forward to some heads up action with Gary next season

Driving a fast Jap import is like coming out of the closet, you might surprise some people, but in the end you are still gay.
