So as per othewr thread I've booked Snett 14th March as the first outing of the year. Plan is to identify anything that needs attention "pre-season" but I'm hoping that will be nothing.
The khumo's are on so it'll be interesting to see how they perform. I've never put a set of tyres on a car that had that much new tyre slipperiness though!! The GTR very nearly ended up in the bushes when it hit boost. Although it did transpire they were at 40psi. Still, should be ok once scrubbed in.
Other than that I had it on the ramps on sat, quick oil and filter change and once over etc. Weirdly the n/s tie rod was loose (who knows how long...) and also identified a bit of play in a rear bearing and also one of the rose joints on the back. So will see if they're any worse after the 14th.
Looking forward to getting back out there and getting some good seat time in this year

Ok, will admit to being childishly excited about getting the GTR on track tomorrow.
The weather forecast is good for snett according to motorsport weather but I'm concerned about the temps being so low.
I spent literally minutes fashioning a piece of cardboard to block a big chunk of the oil cooler off as I don't think I'll get any temp in it at all on the way there and back otherwise.
I'm also not sure if I'll get the Khumo's up to temp on such a cold day. I went for hard compound as most suitable for a car like the GTR and circuit work but this may not be ideal in this weather - all the 80s Jap technology wouldn't keep it remotely straight on the way for V Power tonight as we got a snow flurry
So, can't wait for tomorrow and would be good to see a few familiar faces there.
