Dom - sheet metal was 12 quid from b&q. 0.6mm. Got it in 2 small parts as it was cheaper and easier to cut the middle out

Well I had a little incident at snett last outing and ended up doing this to my ssr

Image

I was told by various "specialists" that it wasn't repairable and nearly gave up hope until I went to see Chris at cs engineering on the sweet briar estate in Norwich.

Pictures speak 1000 words but needless to say the man is a genius! :)

The wheels are now heading to Aerocoat to be refurbed and powdercoated.

Have been assured it will be as strong as it was before. He knew what the car would be used for and wouldn't have done it if he thought it would fail. Have been guaranteed to that effect.

As said on the other forum mate that I dont think they can repair forged wheels.

But happy to be corrected. Surely the balance / weight of the wheel will be out now ?

Ok guys ill keep a close eye on it just in case.

When the wheel was damaged the tyre still held pressure all the way home. The damage was on the face of the wheel and not structural areas.

I've known a few people to have wheels repaired by Chris at cs engineering on cars and motorbike with no issues (on track). I've binned wheels better than that but chris does seem very good.

I hope you sent the GTR the bill mate! And also a guide to what blue flags mean!

Glad you got it sorted in the end
