I have heard the Apexi Map sensor is a plug and play job but isnt it for going over 1.2 bar ? I wasnt intending to do that to be honest. No idea where to get one either :(

The air temp is the one under the intake manifold isnt it ?

I thought that was the whole point of the map sensor - so that you could exceed the limits of having a MAF?

Yeah I think you're right 1.2 BAR is enough for any man (Tho I expect one day Chris will go over that :-D ) I heard the uprated ones update more frequently (like the uprated air temp senders) dont hold me on that tho.

Yeah thats the one.

apexi map sensor will read to 1.9 bar, only when you need to read more do you upgrade to bigger one.

air temp sensor is different, the std one is slow to respond to changes,so people do replace doesnt make alot of difference though

Jeez guys I was only looking around 1 bar.......do I really need it ?
Or is it a case of doing whilst I have the car in bits ?

Where do you get them from and are they car specific ?

Thanks for the words of 'encouragement' there Stu :P

I guess you wanna do it before you get the car mapped, they are easy to get to so I guess you dont need to worry for now. I thought I would say as I am pretty sure mines been uprated and your power output and boost levels will be similar to mine. This is all stuff the previous owner told me so I am not 100% I have got it right. Might be worth speaking to JD or Pip from WGT as they are the guys in the know? Sorry if I have opened a can of worms!

Apparently the sensor comes with the apexi boost controller kit which is a few hundred squid so probably won't be doing that straight away. But yep will have a word with Jaydee later on to see whether I need it for my 'poofy' under 1.2 bar ;)

Dom what boost are you running ?

Atm the moment a mincing 0.8 BAR, this is what the wastegate spring is set to. I have got a boost controller setup but switched off. When I get the car mapped I am gonna get it mapped to 1 BAR then dial it down for the streets. I have heard boost controllers can also be used to help spool?
