x2. Serious dishage really suits the z

She's looking good Pez, like those mirrors too, been looking at some for mine although different style. I think you should stop going to America to earn money to support your family and do some TDs to abuse your zed instead

Excuse the upside down camera phone vid
I'm not entirely sure what's going on here, because apart from a recent battery change and a 'collapsing/failed trolly jack' incident which caused the zed to take a bit of a knock when it dropped (shitty Halfrauds' tat), I can't see any reason why this noise would occur.
I can't see any dis-lodged pipes or hoses that may cause a boost/air leak. I did find a small hose that had become disconnected on the passenger side of the plenum (traced the hissing sound and re-attached it) which apart from stopping the hissing sound, made no difference
The oil level and oil pressure is good, oil passing through engine ok (I recently plumbed in a new oil cooler) but to eliminate that as a potential cause of the piss poor running I removed the cooler from the equation and connected the oil pipes with a short length of hose (no difference).
The MAF has been removed and cleaned (tested with and without it) clearly the MAF is not the issue.
I've checked the plugs/connections and given each a quick spray but that's made no difference, no air leaks/boost leaks that I can find (after market boost gauge reads fine)
It's got me stumped???

Any ideas why an engine that was running perfectly fine last time it was fired up would suddenly start to sound like this?
I'm sure there's a really simple explaination (ie. it's totally fucked!!) but all I want to do now is drive the bloody thing......or push it off a cliff if it causes me any more grief
