Is it a UK or JDM one ? Do the UK ones need undersealing or is it just worth doing to help keep the tinworm at bay ?

Very nice work Stu, love the colour. As I said I'm not a huge fan of the red interior but looks great condition. Mugen top on that would finish it off very nicely

In terms of the underseal, I can honestly say that there hasn't been a car I've had/seen on the ramps yet that I thought was adequately protected. I suppose it depends on what you want and what your standards are, but this guy wants to get his car into the best condition he can afford to.
Thanks Dan. The investment of time into product research and testing is paying offDaniel wrote:Mega clean Stu, proper impressed.

You may need to be a bit more specific though buddy as being semi-retired means I am 'free' quite a lot
Are you thinking the Golf, Impreza, Ranger, X5, Rangie or T4?

Sold the x5 mate and replaced it with the range rover sport but you could do the golf as well as its not looking its best after sitting in a lock up for the last three months. Will give you a bell when the weathers a bit better.Stuart wrote:Thanks Mike

Today's mission saw me take a little field trip but the long drive was well worth it when I was greeted with one of my all time favourite real world cars
An E46 M3

In Silver Grey with very desirable Kiwi leather
It was in very good order. Low mileage helped here and the paint and interior were amongst the best that I've seen for a car of this age.
The owner and I checked the car over, as is usual, before I got stuck in. As the weather forecast said 'chance of snow' I decided to get the interior done first thing to optimise the time/weather/daylight available.

A thorough hoover, carpet and mat shampoo, clean of all vinyls and rubbers and then treating all of them too soon sorted that lot out. I used a detail brush on things like switches and vents to get rid of any dust. I cleaned the leather with a very dilute water based cleaner and then used plenty of Autoglym leather treatment.

Weather was still holding at this point so time to get a wiggle on (excuse the drop of in photos but I was a bit busy at this point!)

Tar removal

Then rinsed again, dried, polished twice and sealed!
Finished item

The order in which the job was done was shuffled around quite a bit from my normal routine just to make the best of the light and weather. If some of the photos appear in a slightly ad-hoc order you'll have to bear with me!
The owner was chuffed. I was chuffed
Big thanks to him for letting me have the opportunity to work on it. He's assured me he'll get some better photos to me in due course
Supposed to have another S2k tomorrow but snow is forecast........watch this space.
