Ouch very lucky !! Is that for Grid2 as some of the Rex boys did the same. I think Dragon Performance pink Rx7 is in the game too.

It's all good, completely my fault for mis-judging it.
No worries - how do I tell, looked like it had been undersealed to me but I'm not expert at that sort of thing, the main chassis has been undersealed anyway but has surface rust on the sills so need to probably find someone to get it repaired at some point anyway (unless all it needs is a wire brush, but sills are crushed in places too so will need someone handy with a welder to repair I think).
Definately welcome more info on it though as i'm very much open to learning more where possible
Much the same way as the underseal I put on after recommendations when I did the gearbox am very much open to suggestions and any ideas

Russ - Probably a bit of both, apparently (according to the guy following me) the rear of the car went up in the air by 5ft... he stopped though and mentioned that many people get caught out on that bend when its slightly damp. Gave me a lift back to town too and went with the GFs car and tools to repair the car to get it back home (tension rod had ripped out, I used a large washer and bolted it back up with the spare to get home)
I keep joking with my friends that whilst it's just metal and I was unhurt, bones fix for free unlike metal :P Will learn from it though and the Skyline is going to be used less on the road and more on track this year

It'll be back and it'll be better. Going to re-bush most if not all of the rear of the car at this point too, so should be alot tighter once thats done

To my eyes this section looks raw as you like, so if there are other bits under there that look the same in my opinion they need to be treated. I've used traditional waxoyl on my own cars in the past and it's OK, but quite crude in it's application and it doesn't go off as such. I took advice from an off road specialist who restores/services Landies of all sorts of shapes and sizes, and he recommended a waxoyl and schutz hybrid that goes on like a dream. I have used this on a few cars now on floorpans, in the chassis rails and bumper sections, arches and just about everywhere else possible.

No worries, i've used aerosol Waxoyl in places (I say in places, I mean on the transmission tunnel when the box was out)
Definately know what you mean though as tried to mount the wideband controller to the chassis rail and it wouldnt stick and found that the waxoyl hadn't set.
Am in north oxfordshire so quite a trek away unfortunately

Parts bought;
Will also probably buy enough bushes to rebush the whole rear of the car along with solid diff bushes and new wheel/rear tyres next month

Try a quick wire brush to get rid of the loose rust then this stuff before paintingGhostWKD wrote:

it works well on 70s vintage rust so it should frighten the brown shiite off the GTR a treat

There's nothing that shouts "Poor Workmanship" more than wrinkles in the Gaffer tape.....

-> Solid steering bush just because i've been meaning to do this for ages
-> New Rota Grid
-> Japspeed Silenced decat pipe - Hopefully means can use the car on track without the tailpipe bung but gives more freedom to use both and reduce the noise even more (Bedford) - need to get a lambda boss welded into this for my wideband
