Probably going to buy an arch roller and have a go at the rears as they're not too bad just worried when I do a Tunnel Run with mates in the car it'll scrub (and arch roller is cheaper than paying someone to do it, esp when you think it could be sold on and only have lost

Sounds like you've been busy. If you are able to buy a brake booster (stops the bulkhead flexing under load) they are a cheap and worthwhile purchase

You should love the Pagid pads.......I really rate them.

Funny you say that, Cusco BMC Stopper already on its way

Looking forward to getting the brakes on and arches rolled this weekend (braided hoses arrived, picking up Brembos tonight, wheel arch roller arrived) - rolling my arches myself as one of the rears has a tiny bit of rust so would rather do it myself so if it breaks off its my fault not somebody elses

Been talking to Codemasters recently too and my R32 will be providing the exhaust sounds for a R32 Skyline in GRID2

Recording is in a couple of weeks which I'm really looking forward to

How cool is that?

Make sure it's you revving it though, as they'll need to go through the rev range in increments holding the car at 2k upwards, and record clips in and outside of the car so your car will be well up in the rev range for potentially extended periods of time. They will almost certainly want to record it on the rev-limiter too ( I was quite well informed of the development cycle involved with the GT series from Polyphony Digital back in the day

Ron Kiddell advised me and a friend years ago that 'red is dead' with RB's so I'd be extra careful about anyone non-aware or unsympathetic to my car

I'm sure you already know about heating the paint up when rolling the arches.........

Yeah its pretty awesome, it'll be me driving it and i'll take the laptop with me to adjust things on the fly through the datalogit if I need to

Got a whole sheet of things to do which like you say includes using the limiter - the cars limiter is set to 8k currently anyway (presumably was done originally to preserve the engine) so shouldnt be a problem, but if I get worried can drop it a little through my laptop

Exciting stuff though and will have 7 mics hooked up to the car for recording I think it was (3x exhaust, 3x engine bay, 1x inside)

Yep got a heatgun at the ready too cheers for checking though

(although a little worried about getting it hot enough to avoid cracking the paint but not hot enough for it to start blistering the paint heh... sure it'll be fine)

Might fit a trackday in the car into November but realistically it'll be next year now... looking forward to it though as the cars has had alot of (and will have a little more) work to get it ready for the track and its time to start enjoying it

Nice work mate, I know Dragon Performance have helped with the RX7s in Grid 2 also.

Apologies been a long time since i've been on, been very busy at work as started new job etc and just been flat out

So I got my arches rolled, one arch rolled fine, the other (the rustier of the two) erm didnt and cracked paint, so gave it a quick coat of blue and lacquer just to protect it from any further rust etc

Got the new R33 brakes fitted and the stopping power is absolutely nuts now, can't wait to get the benefit from them on track!

Also, had the day with codemasters, recorded lots of sounds and any wheelspin noises that aren't slicks or drifting will have been sourced from my GTR, great fun!

Had a great day and the only problem was a boost pipe popped off at the very end of the day which isn't the biggest problem in the world

Since then however not been quite as amazing (contrary to my above comment about stopping power) hadn't realised it but the rear camber had eaten my tyres and I misjudged a corner on a slightly damp country road which resulted in me hitting the kerb and doing a fair bit of damage unfortunately

luckily no damage to me though and i'll have the car sorted in no time

Wheel;

Subframe/wishbone;

Tension rod;

Inner arch;

Coilover;

And the rear arch has cracked along the lip of the arch (presumably where its had 3/4 panel work in the past)

So all in all not too pretty.

But i've already started getting bits together to get it fixed, last night picked up a subframe and wishbone along with stock tension rods and adjustable camber arms (will fix this camber now!)

Also got a set of Meister R coilovers for the car as Tein are quoting very high numbers to get a individual strut.

Will try to keep this up to date again and take part in the forum a little more, planning some trackdays this year once its fixed so be great to maybe see some of you at some of those

Oh mate, that's a shocker!

I was just looking at the first shots with all of the sound recording equipment thinking how nice that colour was with the 'new' wheels and then the 'after' shots

At least it sounds like you have got straight into fixing the thing. By the way, and I am genuinely not touting for business, but the underside doesn't look like it's been undersealed. If that is the case, whilst it's up in the air with the wheels and legs off it's the best possible time to get it sorted. Ignore me if this is dealt with or you're not that fussed but if you want some info about it give me a PM and I'll talk you through how I would tackle it
