Spent the last 3 days at work stripping and rebuilding parts,

Had to strip down both front hubs so I could install the new extended wheel studs

Excuse the state of the brakes I washed the car before putting it away and they have rusted nicely. I will be buying Hi specs all round once my mapping is done in January.

Propshaft out and ready for the diff to be dropped.

Front end built back up with new studs.

Rear end built back up with new larger splined hubs and new driveshaft should be good for 1000hp

You can see the hub sticks out a lot more than oem and the thread sticks out along way. I am making some 15mm spaces to go on the rear so I hope I should be able to run with centre caps in. Front is having some 10mm spacers made.

Just waiting on the diff to be rebuilt with the quaife LSD then that just needs bolting in.

At least the threads should be long enough ;) Nice ramps Matt.

When putting the hub nuts on it just kept going and going. Guessing your talking about my motor bike lift I'm using to stop the diff from dropping, handy little tool.

Bit more done this week. Ordered some open wheel nuts as my new studs are too long for the oem nuts. I also wanted black nuts. Problem is it's almost impossible to get aftermarket wheel nuts that fit the ball seat of the oem wheels so I had to buy some adapter washers. But it looked gay.....they stuck out a mile.

Image

So first I thought I would machine the length down

Image

Then as I was driving home I thought why not machine the ball seat on to the nuts so next morning I worked out the radius of the seat and machined all of them

Image

Quick bead blast to take the anodising off (which was soft as shit)

Image

Then tried them on the car with the spacers on.

Image

On Monday the nuts and spacers are off to be hard anodised black. I'm also going to be ordering the hi spec brakes for the front and rear which will also be black, going for 6 pot 335mm fronts and 320mm 2 pot rears. To carry on with the black theme I painted the diff housing black yesterday

Image

There is problems with the diff as the shafts on the diff don't fit in the quaife.....this is apparently a known problem but quaife didn't know about this so I have sent it all down to them so they can sort it. It's to do with the shafts being different lengths but the quaife will only accept equal length shafts......basically a pain in the arse as I want to get the car on the road, get it mapped and do some road testing before a track day on the first of march.

I like the way you tackle each stage of this project, and just systematically get it sorted out :) I've only seen long studs like that with short open nuts on them and they always look a bit odd, but then as they've been on motor-sports cars, it's always function over form and nothing else. Your solution looks good and does the job.

I hope Quaife are helpful. Keep us posted.

Cheers guys. You will see less of the stud as the new brakes are about 2-3mm thicker. The rear studs are slightly shorter as doesn't have the nipple on the end so you won't see them at all.

Just want it done so I can test the undertray and get it mapped. I hate hold ups.
