Troferos are great also see above as they are very similar.

Hankook RS2's offer great wear also , however are a good all rounder

what are you looking for it to do

A dry tyre and then you have a wet tyre ?

Or

An all rounder . ?
I had a totally different experience on FZ201s on a 1250kg car. They died in two/three events but the grip was good.

Kumho V70A's have been the best in my experience vs FZ201, 888, A048. Similar grip to 888 and A048 but great wear with a set on said 1250kg car with 350 bhp through the rear wheels and the rears lasted around 6 events!

Good points Tommy.
Another couple of considerations (one* of which is near impossible to compare here)

-How many laps the driver will be using them for (as this will affect the heat cycles)
-How hard or sympathetic the driver is towards their tyres*

I know a few lads that will be using Maragoni, Syron and D-Mack next year (all budget track tyres) so I'll add their feedback to this thread when it's relevant

my appologies this is slightly off topic, but I didn't feel that it warranted a new thread

My planned setup for next year:

(1) Primary set of rims (Dry) 17" x (8.5" & 9.5") R888's

(2) 'Possible' secondary set of rims (Wet) 17" x (8.5" all round) Goodyear Eagle F1's

My question really is with regards to the difference in rim width on the rears.

I understood that the wet tyres that are run should ideally be narrower in width than the dry tyres (however in this instance both are running 235 front and 255 rear)

Is this likely to cause any issues?

I see nothing wrong with your plans to start with and I am sure that by the time you experiment with tyre pressure and suspension settings (camber, damper rates, ARB stiffness etc) you'll have enough scope to play. Slightly narrower in the wet is generally accepted as a good idea but I don't think it will make a huge difference, and if it did you would soon get used to it anyway
.
I always used to find that I was only 'quick' in any given car when I'd really got used to it. During this process I'd get used to the car's idiosyncrasies and accommodate them.

Was I driving any of the cars at the absolute pinnacle of the optimum level? No, nowhere near, but I was going pretty well for me and my ability and having a great time doing so.

So I need some more boots and am again agonising over choices:

I'm really tempted byt the Khumo Ecsta V70 which gets good reviews and appears to wear better than the 888. Also cheap -

They're a bit too road biased for me, if it was a federal it would be the FZ 201
