While illegal guns occupy a great deal of time for the feds, so do legally held guns. Look at most recent shootings, and certainly in rural Britain, many were legal guns. I think the reasons people have guns should be more readily tested. I ve read some very interesting articles about Japanese gun culture and legislation. The statistics speak for themselves. I will acknowledge I am biased against guns, and others who ve had them for years without incident will feel differently.

There's a bit of a mis-conception regarding what is and isn't legal to own in the UK. A Section 1 firearms certificate enables the holder to posess listed weapons above and beyond that permitted with a shotgun certificate (ie. the Mossberg in the picture would be and is perfectly legal to own....) and with the right qualifications under your belt you can legally own 2 Buck ammunition as well
