Cheers guys,

Tell me about it Lee, and injuries are always worse when your hands are so cold that you can not feel anything lol

Slight blow has developed from the 3" exhaust, I was not happy with it being a completely rigid system so maybe time to fit a bit of flexi pipe.

I am still concerned with the 6th gear notchiness, not driven one with 6sp before, maybe just being paranoid. My 5sp was also tighter on the linkage so I will have to check all the bushings are tight and without play. On the plus side the box came with a stiffer mount which has got rid of the gearbox bang I used to get.

Just letting the clutch bed in before I give it beans but the first few gears feel like they will make for interesting acceleration :)

6th gear really is not right, there is far too much resistance to drop it in. 4th does not feel quite right either. I seriously suspect the synchros are on their way! FFS.

Anyone local familiar with the 6speed box want to give me a second opinion?

It does sound like synchro issues or a bent selector fork, all gears should drop in nice and smoothly.
Replace whatever oil you've used with Redline and see how you get on.
I trashed my 6spd after a track day and couldn't select 3rd or 4th, but after swapping out the old oil to Redline I got the gears back again ( albeit still a bit crunchy but they were usable ).

umm, so I do wonder if the clutch is not disengaging as much as it should?
This is my area of investigation now.

Let me know about Sunday fella, though I hope to make some progress tomorrow :beatdeadhorse5:

Millers CRX 75w90NT. Seller replaced the oil a few thousand ago and gave me the left over from the replacement to top up what it lost in the transfer. Oil in the box looks very fresh, no reason not to believe the seller.

I will replace the fluid tomorrow to be sure. I had no clutch issues on the old 5sp. I have not adjusted the clutch. I can not find a guide!

Having a google it sounds like the bite should be quite high on a new pull clutch? My bite is about a third of the way up the pedal travel!

Does this sound like I may have some adjustment available to gain more disengagement?

Damper system? What is that?

Genuine Exedy pink box.

Thanks!

This is worst case and I will be looking back to the seller (in the trade although private sale) for selling me a duffer. I do not want to replace oil with some that will mask the issue. I do drive my cars hard and if the box is not right then it will have to come out - which I really do not want to do :banghead:
