Sorry Gary, my allocated spaces are full and according to Stuart at MSV the day sold earlier in the week.

He could just turn up at lunchtime to see if any Evo's have broken and gone home lol

Well, what a result. Quote from Stuart at MSV

'I have spoken to Snetterton this morning and they have agreed to allow you access to the Archie Scott Brown Centre at the top of the pit lane. You will have this area and the garages attached exclusively to entertain your customers in.

We have also made provision for you to run directly from the Archie Scott Brown Centre to the top of the pit lane to avoid the need for your guys to be caught up in what will be the busy area of the paddock/pit lane area.'

So when you arrive presumably you can just come up to the parking area near the Scrutineering bay and offload your stuff in the garages. I will be setting up in the VIP
centre in the warm lol here http://www.vintageracecar.com/pages/news.cgi?newsid=24

See some of you on Thursday

Hope you all had a good day I rolled up about 12:00 first time out in the car for a couple of months only to hit a Bloody Pheasant in Thetford Forrest and made a hell of a mess of the windscreen so only had a quick look round then headed home in case of rain as I couldn't use the wipers.

There was some pretty interesting kit there and I do hope that the day was a success Eddy, look forward to the write ups

Shame about the pheasant (and screen of course) I've just uploaded some photos Harry. The day looked busy, with the track drying out nicely after lunch (apparently)

Well just got home ! Firstly big thanks to Eddy was really good to havea little get together again and great that we had the Archie Scott Brown centre all to ourselves !

The weather first thing was not good and the track was very slippy and as a result of this and some dubious driving from some folks and an EVO dumping most of its oil 2 thirds of the way round the track this caused 4 red flags within 1.5 hours of getting started ......it was all a bit mad for a while and eventually the marshalls put out a call over the PA and asked for people to just calm down a bit and take it easy and let the track dry out, thankfully most people did take note and we finally got under way.
Today was my first outing in the MX5 Turbo and I really didn't know what to expect and sadly I was left somewhat underwhelmed by its performance.......but it just didn't live up to my high expectations the brakes are most definatley an area I need to look at almost straight away.......I was having issues with the clutch too clutch judder and eventually it was slipping a bit there is a bit of oil residue round the gearbox / engine etc so it might just be oil contamination but it did hamper the day somewhat.
So the gear box needs to come out so I can have a look and see whats going on and replace if required the brakes need replacing and possibly with some good uprated calipers depending on price....
Then will pay Gary a visit to look at the map and the posibility of raising the boost as it's only peaking at .6 Bar if the gauge is displaying accurate info that is....
Once all that is done I will give it another try on track and see how I feel if not it will be up for sale !
Its not a bad car and it is fun but I am used to more brutal power and the poor little 5 just left me wanting more.......

Eddy managed to completely break his NSF brake disc on the Pulsar but his MX5 and the trusty Metro ran without fault.

Good to meet some new faces too.

One of Chris's mates Ben came along as a track day virgin in his Seat Lean Cupra R and in his words was shitting his self anyway I drove him round in his car for the siting laps just to talk him through the circuit etc.....After the first 3 red flags I took him round again in his car at proper track speed to give him an insight as to what to expect and what we would aim to get him doing.......Then we swapped seats I took my life in my hands and rode shot gun with hime and gave him some pointers and helped him to build up his ability and confidence.
It wasn't an ideal situation first trackday in the wet with a very busy circuit but after a while he was getting better so I left him too it.
In the afternoon the track had dried out so I took him out again and put in some quick dry laps and gave him a few more pointers for which he was greatful.....he got progressivly quicker and smoother and didn't crash or spin so well done Ben ! See you at the next one.
