Well another Marham event and I will say it had a very low attendants about 40 cars which has its plus's but the track seemed very empty! Pete was there with his camaro which I was lucky enough to be taken out in. Well driven and I loved the sound of the v8. The vr6 performed as always with no real issue but as the day was so hot we suffered with high oil temps but a bigger cooler will sort that! We've decided to invest some time and money in to it which should see it becoming a better track car.
Now after lunch time they changed the direction of the track which was a real treat! I ended up off track many times thinking I knew the lay out well enough but lucky its only cones so only a bit of pride hurt.

Nice to hear that your day went well Ian, and I'm sorry to hear that the event wasn't as well supported as previous years but I think it's kind of inevitable. These events have always relied upon other forums to spread the word and all forums are much quieter than usual, not just this one. The bargain price is a real treat in an environment where many other providers are bumping their costs up, so fair play to the organisers for that 
I remember the concept of the fundraiser at Honington in 06 I think. A smaller circuit on one part of the venue, with a drift area, top speed and quarter mile over the various parts of the runway complex. For me, this represents a better compromise as it saves on boredom, excessive wear and tear, provides variety for drivers and 'support staff

With the dates of this particular event shifting around, and the RBMR being cancelled/delayed it all casts doubt over this kind of thing being written in to one's diary.

Back to the thread (Sorry Ian) it's interesting to read that you're going to develop the car. Your VR6 has been a reliable workhorse over the years and was effective enough when I came out with you a few years ago. I look forward to reading your updated project thread
Nice to hear that Pete's Camaro was doing the business. That is one awesome car and I love the fact that it gets a regular pounding on a race track!

My first Matham event, in short I will definitely be going back partly because I havent finished cutting the grass in the rex 
I have only been to one other track day so I dont know whats par for the course, but this one seemed well organised and all the RAF guys were friendly and all shared the love. Got chatting to quite a few of the regulars there as well
so know a few more faces.
Only has one incident in the rex were I over baked a corner and ended up on the grass
A few cable ties later and I was sorted! I spent all of Saturday getting my brakes sortedready for today which turned out to be time wells spent. I didnt experience any fade so I was a happy man. Car didnt skip a beat all day and she seemed to run sweeter as the day went on!
I have got a few more bits I would like to sort out on the car before I hit the track again but I will pop along to meets in the meantime
