What a posers car !!! :)
Seriously though it looks awesome and that interior is to die for.

We saw some GT3 RS' at the Ring, thwy were very quick. In fact most of the Porsches were quick especially the more beaten up / stone chipped ones !! My first experience on the Ring was Stu saying look left and this Porsche GT3 absolutely hammered it by at the first corner just under the bridge. Sounded superb !!

G

Check the bhp figure differences between a GT3, a GT3-RS and Stu's twin turbo with 510hp! Just imagine how fast that must be :)

Yes mate, I was saying it on the basis that his must be a heck of a lot faster than those and with a 'normal' paint colour !!! Am I right in thinking a GT3 RS isnt turbo though ? I get pretty lost with the model variants apart from the RS :)

Great cars though :)

415hp normal aspiration :) So Stu's has nearly 100hp more, loads more torque and no stickers :)

I've got a bit more weight than the GT3's & RS so need a bit more power..

I can't wait until i've got nearly another 200bhp to play with.

Extra weight counts for next to fuck all when you're motoring Stu; these 911's went passed us @ 140+ :D It was very memorable to put it mildly!

Bealo wrote:TBH i am taking it very easy in it apart from in a straight line. It is fast and the kick down at about 70mph into 3rd was alarming at first the torque is in a different league after the CSL.

The CSL is defo easier to drive but i'm warming to the task and am looking forward to my CATDT course on Saturday to start to learn how to drive the thing.

After the mods ive had done to the suspension it really is pointy and i like that looking forward to pushing it on track but as you know Stu it will take me quite some time to gel with it. How many track days did it take me to get comfy in the CSL.

My friend who also used to have a CSL has now got a 997 GT3 and had it 2 months without going on track and was going to move it on as he didn't gel with it.
But after he did a track day and got some tuition he loves it. he said he couldn't believe how he had to drive it and was amazed at the front end grip and my friend has raced before.

I think the car is a keeper and i'm looking forward to improving it and my driving over the next few years.

Car looks great mate, and you must be stoked to have finally got it, even if not how you originally wanted. Still, i reckon it's better as you'll appreciate the mods as they come.

Interested as to your choice of the tiptronic, esp as you are obviously building it for mainly track use. Interested to hear how you get on with it.

I also reckon you'l find that you gel with it quicker than you think. I say that having never met you but Daz has a tuned 996 tub and first time we took that on track he was pushing it pretty nicely before long. 2nd time it went on track it was in Time Attack!! And he's had GTRs, RX7s and Scoobs so nothing like the rear drive porker.

Anyway, hopefully get to find out as I'm intending on booking the OT day at Donny on the 31st so I'll see ya there fella :D

I chose the tip because i loved the set-up in the CSL, the tip is a slower changing box but i have upgraded the steering wheel to one with paddles. I like leaving it in auto on the road and putting it into manual on track.

I will let you know how it goes on track.

Be good to see you on the 31st at Donny, get ready to be swamped by CSL's as i think there will be around 15 there!

Yeah the paddle upgrade was a good call, and i thought you'd say it was cos you liked the csl 'box so hope it works out how you expect. Totally with you on the auto mode for day2day! Personally I've never tried a flappy paddle, i bought an e46 m3 with a manwell over a csl because of the bad press the paddle shift got - what a mistake!!! haha.

def up for some donny action, subject to solving my diff leak / buying a less aggressive one. 15 CSLs? you mean 15 mobile chicanes :smilielol5: **that was a joke, I've seen those pedalled properly before....
