Porsche 996 Turbo
I saw the photos on Facebook and was pleased to see that you'd taken delivery of it
How do you find the driving experience of a rear engined car compared to the old CSL? The only modern 911 I've driven is a mk1 GT3 and whilst I loved the overall experience, I started to understand why it must take time and trust to really lean on a Porsche 911 in fast driving.
I look forward to hearing how you get on with it Stu. A beautiful car

TBH i am taking it very easy in it apart from in a straight line. It is fast and the kick down at about 70mph into 3rd was alarming at first the torque is in a different league after the CSL.Stuart wrote:I saw the photos on Facebook and was pleased to see that you'd taken delivery of it

The CSL is defo easier to drive but i'm warming to the task and am looking forward to my CATDT course on Saturday to start to learn how to drive the thing.
After the mods ive had done to the suspension it really is pointy and i like that looking forward to pushing it on track but as you know Stu it will take me quite some time to gel with it. How many track days did it take me to get comfy in the CSL.
My friend who also used to have a CSL has now got a 997 GT3 and had it 2 months without going on track and was going to move it on as he didn't gel with it.
But after he did a track day and got some tuition he loves it. he said he couldn't believe how he had to drive it and was amazed at the front end grip and my friend has raced before.
I think the car is a keeper and i'm looking forward to improving it and my driving over the next few years.
Love the interior mate. Those seats looks superb and blend a luxury kind of look with the obvious sporting intent. A few nice 911's in one of those photos too!
