Still extremely tempted to just buy another clutch but pointless to do so if its not the underlying problem, not to mention that there's no 2nd hand decent options at the moment and the new options are

:) - I only ever pay Gary to worry about such matters. The closest I get to actually handling the mechnical bits is when they get delivered in the post.

It would be cheaper to low load the car to APT and have them sort it if you're prepared to spend

Lol... unfortunately not quite at the point of having a garage to do most of my work - both because i'd feel a little cheated not doing the work myself and secondly because it would mean less money to spend on the nice bits in the first place :)

Going to get the car jacked up tonight and have a play with the clutch slave, apparently they can leak inside the boot and wouldnt show any symptoms as it gets sucked back in when the rod retracts - already priced up a replacement so just a case of looking tonight :)

Whats bringing you to burford? Bit of a trek for you isnt it?

My nan lives in Shilton just down the road from Burford. Popping up for the weekend, then dropping girlfriend off in Banbury for a meeting whilst I head to Milton Keynes for a few hours in the Xscape boarding.

For interest if you didn't already know, you can check exactly when you car was made by looking at the little tag on the bottom of the safety belt, that way you can match it to which series it is .. i.e. series 1, 2 or 3.

Ah fair enough :) Good old Xscape :D

Its a series 1 iirc, although didnt know about the seatbelt tag will check that out more out of interest heh :)

Had a look at the slave today and noticed one thing about it - when the clutch pedal is pressed there's a squeak coming from somewhere, gearbox is still off the car so must be in the hydraulics somewhere...

Squeak noise;

Might just get a new clutch slave (

What a strange sound ! ... sure there isn't some sort of small creature trapped in there!.

Just noticed your old GTR - I remember those orange wheels - really liked that touch :)
