Ha ha ha No, more of a Mazda fan than a Nissan fanboy
Plus that Polo is stock bar the wheels and it is staying that way, until I get rid most likely next year and replaced with something better.
I am not joking when I say that taking pics of your car was the hardest out of all the other vehicles there, my 'panning' technique is still in the beginner stage and your car was so quick on the straight I was really struggling. Was damn fun though
Well you did pretty well mate, better get practicing with the panning as hopefully next time I'll get the boost up and have a bit more confidence to push if I can sort the handling issues... Would love some pics of it crossed up at big speed

Crossed up we were nearly 4 wheel drifting ! But hey damn good fun !
=Monster;276780 Wonder if it's the nismo lip causing lift. Will have to give that some thought.
100% is the lip mate. Look at the distortion/lift created by the nearside headlight and the increased gap closer to the centre of the front shutline on the bonnet. My 32 bonnet creased on a top speed run at Honington as I was also using aero-catches.
Speed wise you must have been doing 130-140 odd? Surely.
Yeah agreed, there's some more shots of it from head on just past the pits on the opentrack flickr and it's doing it there too. Reckon must be 140ish on the bentley straight cos i'm in 5th
might have to get some vents in the bonnet, was speaking to steve linton earlier and he had it on the supra pre the vents. Will aid cooling too which is a big thing of mine.
I dont know if this is relevant to the GTR but when i was on the track i noticed a piece of tape flapping at the front of the bonnet on the chevy . I had a quick look at the front in the pits but couldnt see anything and assumed it had blown away . Went out again and the tape appeared again , so when back in the pits i looked around under the bonnet but couldnt see anything . On the chevy theres a small front panel in front of the bonnet and when the bonnet shuts theres a small gap and its above the front of the radiator . the tape was a loose end on a piece of wire loom which runs across below the gap in the panels . What must happen is the air builds up in front of the rad and partly vents out through this gap , the air was blowing the piece of tape out of the gap . Sorry this is a bit long winded . But anyway GM wind tested the Camaro back in the sixties for fitting spoilers and found that the car at 115 mph had 375 pounds of lift on the front mostly due to air under the bonnet . I wouldnt have thought that the GTR hoovered up that much air but at 140 mph it must be a fair bit that needs to find a way out . Err in short you probably need vents . Pete:Chevy_anim:
Thats interesting Pete as it sounds like you describe the problem very well. Although the GTR doesn't have the frontage of the Camero, what front area it does have is now filled with big aftermarket rad, bigger aftermarket i/c, oil cooler, pas cooler etc etc which will amplify the effect. i think as well as hopefully preventing the bonnet lifting, vents would also aid the effect of the rads/coolers as the airflow is improved.
I remember when i had the z32 people had lots of problems with overheating when fitting front mount I/Cs, simply because as the engine bay was so tight, the addition of the I/C meant the airflow was so restricted it wouldn't pass through both rad and i/c and just deflected upwards. So similar probs.
I have always wondered about those nismo bonnet lips like the one on my car though, I'm no aerodynamicist but it's always struck me as a bonnet lifter and it's effect on flowing air through the rads must be minimal....
