Decals make it!!!!
Looks like the airfilter could do with moving somewhere out of the way.
Yup, air filter is on the list. Unfortunately the FMIC takes up the natural run through the wing. I may have to buy/make a custom cold air feed/box.

Damn, this car really is like marmite!

I took it to my local body shop today and they pointed out the possibility of leaving a decal 'shadow' in the paint, depending how long they have been on and how much the sun has affected the paint. They want

Still the best looking model to me. I don't mind opinions ;-)

Stuart wrote:Welcome back Tony, that looks like a nice example mate. It's funny how times have changed as a few years ago if you had an Impreza graphics were almost mandatory :) There is a guy near me who has the same kind of model as yours, same colour bodyshell, no stickers, anthracite wheels and driven like he is immune from prosecution :D The gist is, as soon as I see or hear it I smile and he has yet to be seen doing anything else.

Look forward to hearing about your mapping exploits; everyone seems to have a go with Imprezas and I know you did well with the GT4.

Good luck
Cheers Stu, Hopefully I am here to stay for a while now. I just have to stop myself going too far as I did with the GT4, having a family now I just don't have the cash :D

I have been very much looking forward to getting back here to the friendly banter with the like minded, and being tempted to events I would not go to without.

I understand why people go all 'drive it like you stole it' with these as I can not stop grinning when I drive it.

Any active Subaru modders these days?

The only one on here that springs to mind is young Frayz. I sold mine last year to stop me getting addicted to the power, grip and 'hoon' factor. The desire to tweak would have been far too strong :)

I am feeling that Stu, but it is nothing unexpected ;-)

Fitted sportscat and innovate MTX-L AFR gauge/controller this weekend. The job started well with having the lambda sensor bung welded onto the downpipe. The fun started as one turbo nut would not come off - rounded it, smashed it to bits and the collar still held on , I resorted to getting a mate round with a plasma cutter haha that will teach it. Every bolt below the downpipe snapped even when soaked in plusgas. The turbo stud came out with ease and I has a nearly new one in the garage. All back together and my car sound sooooo much better! It is not quiet just deeper and smoother.

Went for a test drive this evening and the AFRs look good, closed loop lambda is doing a really good job.

Roll on MOT wednesday.

Well it looks like the weekend of cursing paid off as she passed the MOT, advisory on the rear brake disks which I was expecting. Happy days :)

I am having a little boost stability issue. I am not sure if it the hot weather, or the cat, but I appear to be .3bar down. Being unsure how the Scooby does its boost control targeting I will have some investigation to do this weekend.

Well at least you can start driving the car now, and get some miles under the belt whilst we have some decent weather :)

This 0.3 bar....is that from gauges or accurate data ;)

The old MOT was still valid and it has been driven everyday since buying it. 21MPG out of the first couple of measured tanks is not bad.

I have only seen this from gauge, but it is a decent Defi gauge and there has been a definite change. I will see what I can log this weekend with my ELM BT and torque on my android phone. I am starting to wish I had logging/remapping tools already! AFR was first on the list and now I have to decide on my mapping software choice :s

Sat waiting for a flatbed  3rd gear is in bits at the bottom of the box.

Please let me know if you know of a good box available. I will get on the hunt when I get home.

Oh shit :( Is that a five or six speed mate? The Impreza breakers near Norwich is the most obvious firm that springs to mind and they can also sort the fitting if needs be
http://www.imprezabreakers.co.uk/map.htm

Or you could also try http://www.rosssport.com as I know they are a lot closer to you (near Ely) and they can source most bits (01945 580066 and ask for Ross or Gav)
