Love the green Ford with the Cosworth engine fitted. Looks like a very nice installation.
Is that a rain light or your transponder hanging off of the rear tow hook?
It's the transponder, after all the problems we keep having with them they suggested that we mount it on the outside of the car.
The only thing we can think of that might be causing the problems is the amount of underseal the previous owner slapped on the underside of the car.
over all it was a really good day for team TnTRacing
i got up at 1.30am and didnt go to bed till gone midnight.
however on a personal note i am really down beat and embarrised on my performance, i was an absolute shambels so much so i am not going to up load any footage that i took from the day apart from maybe the drifting around paddock hill bend as a bit of a larf.
i am so out of touch with the car its unreal, all the points i have writen down today from my observations from being there yesterday and watching the footage today all points (not going to list them all) have boiled down to 1 thing and thats i need more seat time in the car.
last time i thrashed the car was ford fair august last year.
the biggest thing that has pi55ed me off the most is the gap from me to 1st was 8seconds (dry conditions).
we have what i would call a "club class" car how the F##K are we supposed to compete with 800bhp gtr 700bhp evo, our class is a F##KING JOKE.
Mate i was there and there was nothing wrong with your driving except for the fact that you need more seat time. As each session went both me and Wayne could see that you were getting more and more into it and quicker.
We talked over a few things this morning and we'll talk some more.........
congratulations on the car behaving itself, that must be a big relief
where did you end up in class ?
get yourself a trackday booked and familiarise yourself and tweak set up, will work wonders i recon, or could even get some profesional tuition to asses you, not saying you are a bad driver or anything far from it but could be something to think about
More power just brings more complications in my experience. Get back to driving the car lots and really on reliability allowing you to get plenty of laps in. You won't win club class unless you start investing serious amounts of money and get more technical support than you currently do. The gap, as you said earlier, is just too big.
Much more power is not really an option at the moment as what ever we spend on the engine we would also need to spend at least the same amount if not more on the gearbox and drive train to cope.
It's mainly the mid season rule change that's the problem and point of stress. If it wasn't for that then moving the car forwarded would be viable. This also makes it IMPOSSIBLE to fully plan a way forward as we don't have a clue now as to what the rules will be.
Testing and trackdays are never going to be cheap, but it's probably the best way to get a feel for the car and how changing the set-up affects how it goes through the corners under different weather conditions. Logan's Evo went through several changes between the start of the 2011 MLRSS and the final one of the year, spring rates, ARB's, damper settings, etc, and there were still areas of improvement to be made to get the car doing what he wants.
