gti international 2012

Post by Tk »

got up nice and early saturday morning to take the trip to bruntingthorpe proving ground for gti international
jaffa loaded onto the trailer off we went for a great weekend
there were some proper quick cars there on the 1/4 mile putting in 10 second runs
then andy waite put in a 9, the first person to do so at international as its a shocking surface for traction so well done to him
most impressive for me was an old audi 80 with a 1.4 yes 1.4 16v turbo putting in 10 second runs, its a hillclimb car and very very well prepped, amazing

evening time was nice with like minded people and alcohol talking car stuff

sadly the weekend ended badly with a car (white track prepped leon) going into the crowd from the 1/4 mile and injuring 3 people and the helicopter being called out, little details are known about what happened but internet gossiping it looks like his quick release steering wheel come off,
thoughts go out to all involved

I've just read about the Cupra......that is a bit of a shocker if the wheel fault was the blame.

Nice to hear the weekend went well; did you get soaked on Saturday or did you get away with it? Oh yeah.............

Did you have any runs?
Realy sorry to hear about the accident. Were the boys with you? Or rater more importantly, Did they witness it?

you have to feel for the driver aswell, wether it was his fault or not he has to live with this
(i was approached by a well known mag :) )

I can not begin to imagine what he must be feeling right now? I hope none of us are ever in that situation!
I would have been more suprised if you hadn`t been approached for a feature.:)
