Holy crap, that'd be a giggle
VW Golf MKII 16v 3 door
Have you and stu actualy counted up which one of you has had the most cars?:)Rob S wrote:I've had two Sciroccos, five Golfs and now a Seat. I've had three Audi's too, so I'm no stranger to the VAG brand. I do love my old Fords, but I'd have another Mk2 or maybe 3 Golf in a flash, as I would an E34/6 BMW.
I don't blame you for not want to dick about with it, you've already got the yellow Missile to muck about with.
Keep up the good work mate.
And yes you are correct, The 16v is rated at 137hp.
You could always buy it back for what it owes me?;):DBen wrote:Russ, knowing what I've learned in the last 6 months - I'd have kept it and 'uprated' it to 1.8T .. do it fella- the MK2 is an awesome design ... but ... imagine it with some modernisation .. it will be an amazing car, and from what i've read, it's not a difficult job to change the motor.
Thanks for the links mike!
I realy do appreciate that so much can be had out of modifying a golf, But i just want to enjoy it for what it is.
For me its the perfect classic as it is. Its fun, Still quick enough for a sunday blast round the countryside, Its not flash or brash and has all the modern comforts i could need. After all i still have the merc for proper back to basics motoring!;)
Oh! And not forgetting that the scoob does flame well on the over run even when parked on my drive, So in the eyes of my six year old lad that makes it the fastest coolest car ever:smilielol5: and modding the golf could not replace that.
Genuinly thanks for the input guys.
Here we go, another Golf for Trev!
As for how many me or Stu have had, I'd guess Stu's had more (He went through a company car every six months when he was 18
)
I've had some many as they've always been cheap and normally crap, so expiring before too long.
I had the Sierra's longest (4 years for the white one, 2 for the silver) everything else has been pretty temporary.
I'd have another Mk2, but I can't be arsed to sell the Cupra. It's a good car, but.........
