Thanks for all the postiive comments, just can't wait to try it now. Was sooooo up for snett today but decided against it with the rain forecast as would have had to run the 888s and no way i'd have got the brakes up to temp to see if i'd solved that little prob. Nor would I have identified if the slicks are going to create more oil surge issues (seriosuly hoping they don't having jsut solved that little problem last year)

You should have come along to snett yesturday. Yes it was wet most of the morning, But it dried out for the afternoon and the track was mostly empty! It was a fantastic day. Harry and i were the only folks peddaling a 4wd, So climbing all over caterhams etc through the bends all morning was a loverly feeling. You would have had a great time playing with the porsches and a great sounding race preped SDI rover.

Sounds awesome mate, I do love a wet track day, although I don't believe it's only in the wet that you are hassling caterfields etc in the corners - I've seen you round snett

But the rain this time was an issue as wanted to try the new shiny bits. Hopefully see you up there soon tho..

So just got round to a write up on Rockignham and an update!
Was at Rock last friday, great day, few cars and as ever an awesome cicruit.
Car ran really well all in all, some good stuff, but also (as usual) some bad.
The goods
The rear brakes were absolutely great. No dramas at all, not even a hint of overheating so I'm really pleased with this after all the delays (2 monthsm longer than quoted to have them made) and uncertainty that it would solve the problem. Mind you, I'm quite glad as i put a new set of pads on the car all round and they cost

Great write up fella - is it the clutch failing or the Attessa unit? .. i.e. the front 4WD kit? .. if so do you have a 'skylab' fitted i.e. a torque split controller .. they are pretty cheap and allow you to 'trick' the G-meters to overide the transfer from Rear to 4WD .. I'm wondering if you forced it into full 4WD then you wouldn't have the issue with it suffering on the way in. Saying that I enjoyed my GTR more by having it set with the rear biased but using the front end to pull me out of the slide.

Skylabs are available on GTR.co.uk. As to Clutches if it's the clutch I'd strongly recommend a nismo super coppermix twin and nismo slave cylinder. I originally has an OS-Giken twin which was HEAVY as feck, they failed on a QTR mile run, I then tried an Exedy, I managed to blew that apart within 1800 miles, so then went for the nismo - rated at 720Ps .. it was lovely

it's not the clutch as if it was it would be doing it all the time so it must be the 4wd. It only slips when the 4wd is coming in under heavy load conditions, i.e full boost 2nd gear out of a hairpin or similar. Interesting what you said about the clutch, I'm running an OS giken in it at the moment and it's not heavy at all.
I don't have a skylab, there was one on the car when i bought it but I binned it and put a simple switch on for normal 4wd or 2wd only. It's worth a thought but really I don't want it 4wd all the time, although I suppose I could try it and see how I get on with it.

The skylab is a great little device, on snetterton I would adjust it on each lap until I got the car to the balance I liked, i.e. backend happy but with the front coming in on the exit of the bend. The 4WD box is full of fluid when in 2WD mode resulting in the plates being seperated - the fluid is pumped out to make the car 4WD (sure it's this way round) they are like mini clutches - I didn't think it was a part that was upgradeable - They do say you shouldn't run them in permanent 4WD though.
Guessing you got an uprated clutch cylinder then, my OS-Giken needed a strong leg
