Gtr warning lights

Post by Nik »

Hi all you R32 Gtr guys out there.

I have recently had the Antilock and 4WD lights come up on the dash when the car is running.

Sometimes they will go out when I switch the car off and then start it up again but other times they just come on again. Any ideas?

Dude are there any R32s left on the forum after the deserters got rid of the cars they owned.........you know who you are people !!!!!

:D

Seem to remember Ben having his lights (well the hicas ones when going by one of the sat nav things on the bypass). Would have to turn off and back on to reset it.

Beyond guessing at wheel speed sensors playing up (ABS) and the 4wd being fuse related............Gareth is probably right. This kind of knowledge base has long gone on here Nick; it's only you and Christian who are mad enough to own one them now

Ok, one of two things - have you checked the fluid resevoir in the boot? (sure that's the one for Attessa).. also check the fuses under the dash - I had one fail that caused the steering to become heavy and the hicas light to stay on.

Saying that on a rare occasion my 4wd light would come on, but when you restarted the car it would be fine.

Mad Enough or Man Enough mr Automatic Golf :D :D

I'm afraid I can't be much help as I've ripped my ABS off and the 4wd is switchable now.

However, fluid and fuses are def a good place to start. Have you noticed if the torque guage still works - i.e does it still chuck drive to the front, or does it do it all the time?

I'll ask Daz see if he has any ideas

Mine used to do that too. I cannot remember the cause though (age thing lol)
If the fluid is ok, check connections and abs sensors.

mine did that, the 4wd/abs sensers underneath are like a magnet for dirt, just cleaned the sensers on all four wheels, at hubs on front and on diff at rear. sorted the problem.
also i was lazy and just used a can of gunk and jet wash :D
