The diff is fucked. It's banging and knocking like an old plated or welded diff and that spells doom. I could do without the aggro as it's becoming a daily driver, so I'll be shopping for a new or refurbed diff sharpish. The VR6 is just an ornament in the lock up so that's not a suitable swap yet, so Tan's Merc is going to get 'borrowed' for a few days..........I suppose I could always take the ride on to work!!

Maybe not.

Shame the timing wasn't better but there we are, this is the first hiccup in many months of motoring and it is 22 years old!!

Welding it won't make any difference though..........or will it? I was under the impression that it still needs lubrication though (happy to take advice)
