4x4 at the Ring, not a good idea

Post by RX7 »

Well the 4x4 is ok but just not driving beyond the persons talent.....some nice sounding cars first though.

Now, I'm sure the driver of the 4x4 knows you wouldn't take a porsche across a field, so what mad prat thinks you can rag the tits out of a 4x4 on what is essentially a race track!! ..

I think this is the problem with the ring, they are allowing drivers who obviously have no understanding of the physics involved in fast driving (let alone a vechicle that can handle speed) amongst those in cars that are actually more suitable to track time (I agree just because you're in a ferrari doesn't actually mean you can drive - however at least you have a vechicle that has the handling and brakes .... ).

"thats what happens when you bring a spoon to a knife fight" - a quote from the responses on there :)

This is the age old issue of the tourist days as opposed to the track days. I will never forget cresting one of the corners there only to find a very large bus travelling about 60mph slower than us right on the apex!!

Part of the fun I guess...........know your limits and you stand a fair chance of doing OK and having fun. At least that 4x4 parked off of the track :)

How much stuff came out of that looks like they had their suitcases packed and weekly shop in the back , take that crap out and might have made the corner.
