The modern-day BTCC is so slow and tame compared to the lairy classic stuff (and Aussie V8's).

i used to go to the birmingham super prix and watch the racing, the noise was emense, tire scretching and loads of sideways action.

as dan said the v8 supercars is the best touring car series out there, great noise and close racing.

remember standing at ferado corner and a metro crashed into the tire wall
and the rear spoiler came over the fence, me and my cousin just stood there watching it while everyone else ducked:)

rouse was a master engine builder with the cosworth lump, 550bhp in the late 80's was emense
