The time has come where the important parts are turning up its like christmas time all over again

Flywheel skimmed

Crank polished up within standard spec

Crank back in its rightful place torqued down to a lovely 65nm with all new bolts

Liners pistons and rods all back in held in place to stop the liner seals getting damaged when being moved about

Big ends all torqued down to 45nm, oil pump stripped cleaned greased inside for the first start up

Fingers crossed the head, piper cam and vernier pulley turn up before the weekend so i can put the cam in then get the sump and covers back on ready for being put back in the car.

Things are finally getting a move on

the last few bits turned up so progress could start again

cam, vernier pulley, head and new pushrods

piper 285 ultimate cam

piper vernier pulley

73mm thick head, ported n flowed, shortened guides, piper valve springs and multi angle valves

Not really much done tonight work wise only put the cam in, got it timed in and paint marked every bolt thats been torqued up already just incase i miss any later

Brilliant effort with this rebuild.
Should be an epic ride when it's done.

my plan is to have the bottom end timing cover, sump all back on and sealed and fit the flywheel and clutch tomorrow night.

Saturday, i want to get the bottom end back in the engine bay and bolted in, anything more than that is a bonus in my eyes i'm going to clean and tidy up the wiring and hose routes etc at the same time so i wont be rushing around again.

Then i'll do a much as i can after work in the evenings, got to swap the water pump and stuff over on the heads aswell.

Sadly it won't be ready for the rolling road day and i've got a long weekend in yarmouth the same weekend so thats that weekend out of the window for any work on the car shamefully.

I have only just come back in from the garage! I went off on bit of a mission tonight

oh so much has been done!
Bottom end was finished off and is now back in the car and bolted up to the gearbox
Built up the new cylinder head

So later today when i wake up i havent got much left to do...Then its make or break time if the sump leaks or the engine doesn't run properly i will go screwy and set fire to the car

2am rebuilds i havent done that for a while , looks like its coming together nicely and fingers crossed i runs good . A hot cam plus a turbo maybe you will get flames out the exhaust .Pete:Chevy_anim:
