While iam waiting for bits for the Camaro to turn up i got back to the Prefect and managed to just some primer on the underside and started to remove 50 years worth of paint from the doors .

Found some front brake calipers for the Camaro on ebay , there off the C5 Corvette and also used on the LS powered Camaro . There quite a bit bigger than the single piston jobbies i have at the moment and are twin piston and made of aluminium so shouldnt weight anymore . The pads are also a lot bigger and being used on C5 Corvettes means there is a wider range of pads to choose from ,they fit over 32mm thick discs which should take a fair bit of stick and being OE parts they wont cost that much . I plan to fit these at the end of the year after i find some matching rear brakes so i will have to make do with new pads and fitting some cooling ducts . Pete:Chevy_anim:

Yes it a TKO 600 with the 2.87 first gear and .82 fifth gear and so iam told built like a brick shithouse and i would need a big block to break it .

When i opened the box i thought f*ck me there big and with the matching 305mm disc about the biggest setup i can squeeze behind 15 inch rims . i might just get some 17s and use the bigger 325mm Corvette discs . Pete

I've not heard a bad thing about them gearbox's. I wanted one but just couldn't find one for the right price. Got my mustang t5 re built now but next time it breaks i'll buy one!

Not much doing much really which is pissing me off as iam having the week off to fit the Camaro gearbox but as i still dont have any bits so i cant fit it . The bellhousing turned up today but of course it was the wrong one:banghead: so thats going back and it looks like i might not get the other stuff till easter

. So i have been doing some more body work on the Prefect which at least seem to be going ok . Got some paint for it Olive drab for the top and Aircraft grey for the underneath and interior .Pete:Chevy_anim:
