I've had to get a bit creative with this car seems noone can find a shock to match so I have had to change the top mount as well to get a shock to fit!! BMW have never come across this problem????? So god knows where these parts came from even boge (Sachs) have no record of these and can offer a replacement!!! What a chore that was!!! Retest tomorrow so fingers crossed.

***Break it*** :D

Best of luck mate. I can't take the piss as my old BM will no doubt need work prior to the MOT and then I'll be cursing my love for old complicated cars

Sorry to hear the m.o.t is being a pain Rob, Fingers crossed it will still end up a cheap grin machine?
A stupid question? But is the cat a genuine one? I used to m.o.t my neighbours suzuki that had been fitted with a pattern cat, This and the fact that shes in her seventies and only used to potter to the shops once a week in it meant that one year it just wouldn`t go through the gas test even being rev`d hard for several mins. I then thrashed the bollocks out of it down the duel carridge way for about twenty miles and re-tested it - It passed easily!
Good luck.

Lambda sensor was faulty and caused the high emissions
