Thread revival!
Tony announced to us they are planning to enter again this year, which prompted me into digging out the DVD of the TV camera footage mounted in the Hewitt's Evo and uploading it for those who wanted to see more or missed the original TV airing.
This is ripped directly from the DVD and is a little broken-up due to the DVD VOB format, plus only the first 12 stages have audio due to a camera fault. All footage is property of AMGTV and Motors TV.
The rally took place over several areas throughout the two days, with each course being run twice to make up two stages. To extend the stages, there is a point mid-way through where the course splits and re-directs you to redo a section again, before then taking the other side of the split the second time to the finish. Each car is set off in 30 second intervals, and together with the split/merge sections, means there's the occasional issue of slower/faster cars on the same piece of road.
Part 1-
As you can see, Tony clipped a kerb with the driver's side rear wheel towards the end of Stage 1. There was no time to swap it before lining up immediately for the re-run/Stage 2, so had to compete with a rapidly deflating tyre which eventually meant driving a fair way on the rim. He changed it for the spare on the road section between SS2 and 3.
During SS5 and 6, you can see where the overlapping section causes problems as a slower car holds them up.

Finishing off the Ford
Part 2-
At some point, The Evo suffers a fracture of the driver's side front driveshaft, losing drive and braking stability for the rest of the rally. This caused minor handling issues all day, but showed it's head when trying to beat a car at the merge in SS10, pitching the car hard to the right and into a fence. Luckily it was only minor damage to the wing and bumper and they continued. After the stage, at 16:06, you'll see Mr Hayward and James Grint getting to work on the road section pulling out the damage and drilling some holes for the trusty cable-ties to hold everything together, while I'm refuelling the car.

He can certainly pedal an Evo.
Needless to say though, I won't be attaching the GoPro to the exterior, especially Emma's side!
Finishing off the Ford
Sh1t conditions. Great driving. Felt it for the poor car hearing all the little rocks hammering at the underneath.
Well done
