Garage door security

The garage door frame is strong from what I can see (would take an age to try and remove it as it's bolted to the brickwork). Also found out tonight that our management company is going fit lighting that covers our garages, so that should help.
Now going to order the bolts you suggested as I need some piece of mind asap

They are very discreet and nice and strong. Might be worth belling them and just checking the items pictured are for that application, but I'm sure they (or very similar) are.
I've seen adapted crow scarer devices used as well, but that'll go down like a lead balloon near some flats

Not a quick solution but just an idea. Depending on the layout of the garages 2 or 3 of these on the entrance to the garages would make it difficult to get a vehicle in or out. Would need all garage owners permission and agreement.

Pleased that they never got your car Jon but sad to see that the Scum are still around I lost my pride and joy a few years back and have resisted using a remote garage since but needs must now so that I can store and work on my car over winter so the security devices suggested by Rob and others are certainly of interest to me as well.

Up and over doors normally have a runner inside where a wheel passes along it as the door opens. The trick is to stop the wheel going along the runner. If your friend drills a hole in the runner towards the base then puts a padlock through it (both sides if he can) that stops the wheel from running and the door won’t lift until he releases the padlock. Simples."

, but that idea will never happen. Can't imagine my neighbours paying to have it done + it would draw attention to what may be in the garages.

Heck jon that was a close call! Im glad that your extra lock kept the shit bags out and i hope as the scum had been into the others they have had their fill and wont be back.
